Ella Skinner is a Welsh visual artist, set designer, and creative director working across installation, performance, scenography and film. Skinner’s unapologetically visceral environments push audiences into heightened states of catharsis and terror. Skinner fuses flesh and violence into dreamlike architectures that collapse the boundaries between sacred and profane, apocalyptic and intimate, soft and brutal. Drawing on religious iconography, anti-psychiatry, and collective trauma, her work stages the body as both relic and revolt. These immersive worlds are structured like altars and cracked open like wounds- not made to be viewed, but entered.

Working between the UK and Lithuania, Skinner’s transgressive practice moves fluidly across gallery installations, club spaces, underground music, and live performance. She is known for her bold visual language, fusing visual art, experimental music, club culture, and live performance into unforgettable experiences that engage all six senses.

From trapping a performer inside a block of ice in Ecdysis (AUDRA Festival), to suffocating latex coffins in Death of the Box (Yaga Gathering), to kaleidoscopic dreamscapes of cannibalism in Bitch Goddess, each project becomes a site of transformation, disorientation, and ecstatic collapse. Her work has been shown at leading festivals and institutions across the UK, Lithuania, Iceland, and Greece, and she collaborates internationally with musicians, choreographers, and curators driven by risk, rupture and reinvention.
